How to explain exam results to your parents

By on 4:13 AM

Sometimes parents have high expectations regardless of how you perform. Expectations depend on the person.
While some parents would be very happy that their child scored 90 percent, others may be disappointed.
So now that you have your exam results, how do you explain them to your parents?
Plan the conversation
You know your parents the best. If you have not done well, then tell them the reasons why and what you plan to do about it
Speak calmly
Do not lose your temper or raise your voice otherwise the discussion may go out of control.

Listen to them
Your parents may be a little shocked so it may be better if you speak to them at once. They may have some suggestions so listen to what they have to say.
Make a plan
Ask your parents to help you come up with a plan so you can get better marks next time. You will need their support. Stick to the plan.
All the best!
